I am a mom. I have incredible kids:
 Zaffron |
 Luyanda (a.k.a. Mgazi) |
I love love love:
 Chocolate |
 Wine |
I am a world traveller.
|
At the movies in Thailand with my girlfriend. (They have blankets!) |
This is me in Cote d’Ivoire. Note the “NO MACHINE GUNS” sign on the hotel lobby door. |
This is me in Burkina Faso. |
This is me in Nepal. The search for the elusive white Bengal Tiger became the search for the elusive clean toilet. |
This is me in Alaska, flying over some glaciers. |
This is me in Swaziland. I’m being proposed to at this very moment — and not by Russell! |
This is me in Vancouver. My first cruise. Didn’t know I’d be paying for that drink. |
This is me in Belize. This is the country where I discovered the Crocolog. |
This is me in Paris. Well, technically, in a Paris bathroom. |
|
Mgazi & me in Mexico |
Me in Japan w/ an awesome colleague |
I was super cute in kindergarten:

My kindergarten teacher’s name was Mrs. Cherry.
But most of all, I’m just me. Post-Paris Kristine.

This blog is about the balancing act that I must attempt each and every day in order to not suck too badly at any given version of me. Most often, I’m left dangling off the tightrope by my pinky.
Did reading this make you smile? Please share!
you should really explain the crocolog. it sounds quite nefarious.
Oh. Okay! Good idea, honey. A crocolog is an animal that I personally discovered and named on a trip to Belize. It’s a stealth beast that floats just below the surface of the water. It disguises itself as a crocodile but is much more dangerous in that it brings deep and bitter disappointment every time you encounter one.
I think you may be the one person in the world who loves chocolate more than me.
It’s quite possible! You know, when I’m hiring I always ask the person I’m interviewing if he or she likes chocolate. I swear I don’t hold it against them if they don’t. But their answer does give me a glimpse into their soul!
Pam – have you tried Madre chocolate? I think it tastes better because the guys who make it are good-looking. (Just a theory.)
What a great about me page! New fan from bloggy moms.
